Best Video Game Stores in Dubai (2026 Guide)

Introduction

Hello fellow gamer and welcome to this guide. I wanted to create this guide for anyone that loves Videogames and who may be new to Dubai and looking for some of the best videogame stores in the city to buy new games. On the flip side, if you prefer to buy preowned games, I have also created a section on that. This guide will slowly be updated over time to include the latest information, as well as more options as I find them. So let's dive in together and Game on!

Video Game Stores for New Games

These are the main retail stores in Dubai where you can buy brand new video games, consoles, and accessories for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.

1. Geekay Games

Geekay is the OG of video game stores in Dubai and the UAE in general. It opened its first store all the way back in 1990 and has been going strong to this day. It's a highly trusted video game retailer where you can visit to get some of the latest Video game releases and preorders for all current gen consoles including the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 1 and 2. You can also purchase gift cards there as well as all the latest consoles, PCs, handheld gaming devices, a number of great accessories, toys, figures and even TCG cards. Just a great place to hang out and have a look. Geekay can be found in some of the top malls in Dubai, including Dubai Mall, Mall of the Emirates and Dubai and Mirdif City Centre

2. ZGames

ZGames is one of the newer video game stores in Dubai. It opened it's first shop in 2022. Much like Geekay, Zgames is similar to Geekay where it offers all the latest games and preorders for all current gen consoles as well as a great assortment of gaming products, figures, consoles and card games. It is a direct competitor to Geekay. Usually I prefer Geekay, but Zgames is a great store where you can sometimes find a few older games which you can no longer find in other stores. Their pricing is similar to Geekay.

3. Virgin Megastore

Virgin Megastore is another cool place to visit when you wanna check out some interesting merchandise and as it happens, they have a pretty good Video game section, grouped in 3 ways - One for the Playstation products, another for Xbox and the last for Nintendo. They also carry some great retro gaming devices, gift cards and a big selection of PC gaming hardware. Definitely a nice place to check out, however I often find that their game selection for Xbox and Nintendo Switch is not as comprehensive as the Playstation selection.

4. Amazon.ae (Online Option)

I don't think that Amazon.ae needs an introduction. What Ilike about Amazon is that you can often find games for slightly cheaper than Retail, but unless you have free shipping then it won't matter much. I also find that going to the video game is a fun experience where I can take my time and look at all the cool stuff they have there. I think that experience is worth spending a little extra. One other thing is that with Geekay, they have an awesome points program where you can spend andbuy games and eventually accumalate enough AED to buy stuff for free, which is awesome! Amazon, on the other hand is a nice option to have when you're looking for convenience and don't feel like leaving your home. The only issue is delivery is usually a day or two later. So while I do use Amazon to buy games every once in a while, especially harder to find older Switch games I can no longer find in the game stores, I still find myself enjoying going out to buy my games from the mall. So good option to have, but not my first choice.

Best for Used Games: Dubizzle

If you prefer to save money on video games and not buy new, then Dubizzle is definitely your best bet. It is like Dubai's version of craiglist where people list their Video games and consoles for sale at significantily lower prices then what you would buy in the stores. What I love about Dubizzle is that I can find some of the oldest gaming devices on there like the Dreamcast, or the Nintendo 3DS, or the PS3 for some good old retro gaming because there's always someone selling them. You can even haggle with sellers to possibly get an even better price on what you're buying. Some of the negatives though, is that, buying preowned, especially consoles can be very risky because you don't know how well that console has been treated or if its been dropped a few times. Controllers can sometimes have drift issues. But, for the most part, you will get products in good shape, especially the second hand games. So, yeah, Dubizzle is definitely one to check out if you're looking to save money and buy some games.
